The U15 level of the Beast Tourament Series will feature talent from around the globe in what should be a highly competitve fall.

Here are previews of some of the teams participating at the U15 level.

ATLANTIC HOCKEY ACADEMY

With a whole new roster, except for one player, Atlantic Hockey Academy will look to get off to a fast start this Fall.

“Buying in early will be crucial to us,” said coach Jake King. “Playing tough defense and executing on our chances will guide us to success.”

Forwards to keep an eye on include Darragh Curran, Taylor Nixon and Jayden Baran.

Keys on defense project to be Cayden Kulscar and Quinn Badeau. Andrew Tuttle is the lone Academy returner and is will be a solid defenseman as well, as will newcomer Aydan Dunham.

Taking care of the goaltending duties will be Logan Boyd and Quinn Badeau.

RED BANK GENERALS

Coach Yves Heroux hopes his U15 Red Bank Generals team can play as a team and buy into the system to have success in the league this season.

The Generals will have top forwards Brendan Costello (Middletown, NJ), Ryan Burtnick (Atlantic Highland, NJ), Vincent Baldari (Holmdel, NJ) and Blake Wotanowsky (Westfield, NJ) ready to show what they can do.

On defense, Heroux will turn to sophomores Nick Benson (Westfield, NJ) and Michael Schneitzer (Marlboro, NJ) and freshman Greg Bonzcek (Middletown, NJ) to lead the way.

In goal, the Red Bank Generals will have two to turn to – sophomores Will Evans (Barnaget, NJ) and Owen Montgomery (Little Silver, NJ).

Two new players who play for the Woodbridge Wolfpack and are ready to compete are Sean Galvin (Howell, NJ) and Joseph Campanella (Middletown, NJ) and they will both be in the mix.

EAST COAST MILITIA

The U15 East Coast Militia have talent up and down their lineup and ready to show what they can do in this competitive division under coach Jack McIntosh.

“We are much improved and have a great locker room,” said McIntosh. “We have a great balance of scoring and defense and goaltending continues to be a great strength. At this age, I see all of these guys growing into a leadership role.”

McIntosh has a number of key forwards capable of scoring goals including Nick Stevens (Bishop Hendricken), Nate Dono (Auburn/Millbury), Tommy Wilkinson (Thayer) and Finian Kilbourne (St. Paul’s).

The depth at forward is solid for the Militia. Look for Patrick Benson (Dover), Whalen Chin (Catholic Memorial), Nick Hand (Belmont Hill), Chris Carbone (Winchendon), Nolan Lewis and TJ Thornton to make an impact.

The defense will be a strong as well with Hunter Lee (Belmont Hill), Brian McFadden (Catholic Memorial), Gavin Thompson (Canton), Oliver Manning (St. Sebastian’s), Kevin Fitzgerald (BC High) and Scott Crabtree (BB&N).

In goal, the EC Militia will have Drew Karlovits (BC High) and Louie Slesar (Medfield) splitting the time.

BOSTON HOCKEY ACADEMY

The Boston Hockey Academy unveils its first U15 team and coach Jon Lizzotte is eager to see how his team develops and who emerges as leaders on and off the ice.

“I believe we have a ton of skill with our forward group,” said Lizzotte. “We have a good mix of size, speed and guys that can put the puck in the back of the net. We have some very good skating defenseman who like to move the puck and aren’t afraid to make plays. I also believe we have two big athletic goaltenders that will make us very strong in net.”

On offense, the BHA will have Ondrej Husak (Slovakia), Bexultan Makysh (Kazakhstan), Svit Ravnik (Slovenia) and Sammy Courtemanche (Quebec) up front.

Anchoring the blue line will be Michal Marsalek (Slovakia) and Michael Block (San Clemente, CA).

In goal, Lizzotte is confident with Yaroslav Alpatov (Russia) and Aron Warvasovszky (Hungary) handling the duties.

LONG ISLAND GULLS

With a lot of new faces in tow, the Long Island Gulls U15 team are hoping to build a strong culture in order to have a successful season.

Coach Justin Agosta’s says “increasing our goals per game from last season will be our biggest goal this season.”

Top forwards for Agosta will be Owen Degraff (FL), Dylan Dean (MN), Sean Miller (PA) and JT Rothstein (NY).

On defense look for Anthony Pedalino (NY) and Rhys Medved (PA) to anchor the blue line this season.

Agosta will have two goalies in net this season and they are Jordan Valcich (NY) and Alex Kim (NJ).

Some new members hoping to make a splash this season are Anthony Cutulo, William Leonard, Carson Fearman, Logan Ferra and Roman Scala.

NEW HAMPSHIRE MOUNTAIN KINGS

Another new team in the U15 group, the New Hampshire Mountain Kings are hoping to build team chemistry quickly under coach Aran Ward.

Up front, the Mountain Kings will have three sophomores in Max Brocklehurst (Nova Scotia), Kaidan Sahajpal (Nova Scotia) and Michael Delaney (NJ).

“We are expecting big things out of those three,” said Ward. “Brocklehurst is a talented playmaking forward and we expect him to have a huge season offensively. Sahaipal is a dynamic forward from Newfoundland that we expect to have a dominant season and Delaney is another excellent skating forward that we are expecting production from.”

On defense, look for Levi Kossatz (Nova Scotia) and Tegan Gregory (CO) to log a ton of minutes on the blue line for Ward.

“Gregory is an offensive defenseman who just captained his team to Tier 2 Nationals with the Littleton Hawks,” said Ward. “We expect big things from him in terms of leadership and on ice production. Kossatz is a two-way defenseman who has some of the best vision and is a leader on and off the ice.”

In goal, the Mountain Kings will have freshman Aidan Finn from Minnesota and sophomore Max Guerra from Illinois.

“In net we are backed with Finn and he led the Minnesota High Performance league in save percentage and we are expecting big things from him in net this year.”

NEOPONSET VALLEY RIVER RATS

The 15U Neoponset Valley River Rats are stacked with talented players and coach Chris MacPherson is excited to see what they can do.

“All players should take a leadership role and we look to play a structured defensive game with speed and a high compete level on the offensive side,” said MacPherson.”

Key returners up front who put up some big numbers last season are Mike Federico (BC High), Cam MacPherson (St. Mark’s), Aidan Fitzpatrick (St. Mary’s), Ryan Bello (Xaverian), Chase Field (Barnstable), Ethan Travis (Naragansett), Joe Doyle (Andover) and Cam Nehiley (Whitman-Hanson).

New on offense this season will be Alex Thibeault (Phillips Andover), Timmy Donahue (Westminster) and Stevie Rousell (Rivers).

On defense MacPherson welcomes back Phin Howard (St. Mark’s), Tommy Broderick (Dexter), Kris Soja (Nobles) and Tucker O’Neill (Duxbury).

Joining them this season will be Ian Sherman (Pomfret), Matt Piotrowski (Phillips Andover) and Max Monroe (Pope Francis).

Vinny D’Urso (Andover HS) will be back between the pipes after posting a 1.77 GAA last season with the River Rats. Joining him in goal will be Cody Hew (Canterbury).

NEW JERSEY ROCKETS

With a revamped defensive unit and two new goalies, the U15 New Jersey Rockets are hoping to be one of the top teams as they have been the last three seasons.

The Rockets have 10 new players this year and coach Matt Juneau is hoping they will be just as successful as they have been in the past.

“In order for us to have a successful season, they will have to continue to play a team oriented defensive game,” said Juneau. “The offense is expected to get a boost from newcomers Lucas Salvatore and Jake Harrison. We are also expecting some help from overseas as the team will have three international players on the roster this season.”

A few of Juneau’s top forwards include Ryan Tserlin (State Island, NY), Nick Desiderio (North Caldwell, NJ) and Ben Marcolini (Washington, NJ).

The blue line will be anchored by Nathan Bienstock (Hillsborough, NJ) and Dan Maglathlin (Newtown, PA).

In goal, look for Zai Ferraro (New Canaan, CT) and Tim Engelman (White Plains, NY) to both see time. “Zai (Ferraro) comes to us from the MF Rangers this season,” said Juneau. “He has been the top goalie for them the past three seasons. We welcome his maturity and leadership in net this season and he will be looking to backstop a Rockets team that has had one of the lowest team GAA the last three seasons.”

NORTH SHORE ACADEMY

Coach Chris Nagy‘s crew has a lot of potential.

Big Cam Rosenberg, out of Los Angeles, should dot the scoresheet on a regular basis up front.

Smooth-skating Gavin Wakeland will be a cornerstone of the North Shore defense. In goal, look for Zach Rogers to be a fierce competitor.
