CATCHING UP WITH SOME U16 HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE WEEKEND

In some 16U action at the Beast League Fall Classic, the New Hampshire Mountain Kings and the Atlantic Coast Hockey Academy tied 2-2. Keygan Paquette gave Atlantic Coast the early 1-0 lead, but the Mountain Kings fought back with two goals by Jack Devlin and Ashton Farrell. Early in the second half, Maverick Secours scored for Atlantic Coast to force a tie.

* The Yale Jr. Bulldogs and Mid-Fairfield National skated to a spirited 3-3 deadlock. Indy Grossbard fired home a pair of goals for Yale, including the game-tying goal just 27 seconds after Mid-Fairfield's Luke Dow gave his team the lead. Grossbard also assisted on Stefano Pietrantonio's goal. Ryan Hedley and Easton Kinsler also had goals for Mid-Fairfield.

BOSTON JR HUSKIES goalie Aeden Flores readies for shot while defenseman Graidy Carr holds off a Connecticut Chiefs forward in the Huskies' 5-1 win in U16 Beast League action.

* The Boston Jr. Huskies took down the Connecticut Chiefs, 5-1 behind two goals from Andrew Gaffney, and single tallies by Cam Melone, Joe Dimartino and Matt Kelly.

* In their second game of the weekend, Atlantic Coast Hockey Academy beat Rochester Youth Hockey 3-1. Rochester got an early power play goal by Cole Palmer to take a 1-0 lead, but it was all Atlantic Coast after that as Parker Carrabba tied it, and then Mike Poggi’s early second half goal gave them the lead. Bailey Yates added an unassisted goal later in the game to seal the win for Atlantic Coast.

* North Shore Hockey Academy defeated the Valley Forge Minutemen 7-2 in other U16 action. Nolan Beauchain led the way with two goals for North Shore Hockey Academy. Caleb Johannes, Jonathan Chon, James Lu, Daniel Raskin and Lucas Cilan also scored.

* The Long Island Gulls exploded for four second half goals and took care of the Yale Jr. Bulldogs, 6-2. Malachi McKinnon scored twice for the Gulls, while Poul Andersen, Ethan Wyttenbach, Ciaran Pollard and Kirby Perler each added a goal.

* Rochester Youth Hockey and Valley Forge Minutemen played to a 3-3 tie. Rochester got off to a roaring 3-0 start in the first half off goals by Alex Chen, Matthew Hill and Kaden Rutledge, but the Minutemen fought back for three second half goals. Ryan Wai scored the first two and with 34 seconds left Tyler Newby tied the game at three.
