U14, U13 TEAMS READY FOR FM COLUMBUS DAY SHOOTOUT

The U14 and U13 Bantam levels of the Beast League will have their own event this weekend, taking place at different facilities north of Boston, with action slated for the Rinks at Exeter, Breakaway Ice Center (Tewksbury, MA) and the Essex Sports Center (Middleton, MA). The event is labeled as the FM Columbus Day Shootout.

Here is a look at Beast League contests scheduled for this weekend during the Columbus Day Shootout:

U14:

One key matchup to watch for in the U14 division will see the Long Island Gulls battling the Yale Bulldogs, which will take place Saturday afternoon at 3:30 at Exeter. It should be a fun game as the Gulls have Matthew Koch, Richard Janniello, Dominic Slevin and Michael Bonkov leading the way.

On the Bulldogs, look for Zachary Zusman, Ryan Holmes and Logan Mellilo to be key contributors.

The Neponset River Rats are another U14 team to keep your eye on as they have two big games this weekend. They will take on the NS Wings Saturday night at 7 at the Essex Sports Center and play Sunday night at 6:30 pm against EC Militia at Exeter.

River Rats coach Greg Chamberlain on what he expects this weekend:

“Our compete level needs to be better,” said Chamberlain. “We need to play a full complete game, and find ways to win. If we think we can just show up against those teams then we will be sadly mistaken."

Leo Zhu (13-9-22), Jackson Burns (6-14-20) and Connor Hines (7-11-18) have paced the attack all Fall for the River Rats.
