This past weekend saw some great action at the U16 Level at the Beast Fall Classic. Here are some highlights:
* The Long Island Gulls National tied with Boston Hockey Academy National 3-3. Egor Shilov scored twice for the Gulls and Ondrej Husak scored twice for BHA in the tie. Both Yaroslav Alpatov and Sascha Pitaev had 32 saves a piece for their respective teams.
* Boston Hockey Academy National beat the New Jersey Rockets 4-1. Down 1-0 heading into the second half, BHA scored four unanswered on goals by Svit Ravnik (2), Bexultan Makysh and Ondrej Husak.
* After ending in a tie in their first game of the weekend, the Long Island Gulls National got back in the win column beating the East Coast Militia National 6-3. With the game tied 2-2 after the first half, the Gulls scored four times in the second on goals by Kevin Lyoshir (2), Carson Fearman and Owen DeGraff. Egor Shilov also scored twice for the Gulls.
* Mid-Fairfield National earned a huge 4-3 win over the Long Island Gulls National. Mid-Fairfield was leading 1-0 after one half. Joseph Salandra scored a hat trick to start the second to make it 4-0. The Gulls then exploded for three straight on goals by Matthew Portz, Kevin Lyoshir and Carson Fearman, but their comeback fell just short.

* The U16 Neponset River Rats skated to a 3-3 tie with the Nor’Easter Storm. Andrew Martin, Ethan Travis and Alex Theodore all scored for the River Rats. Cam MacPherson added two assists and Vinny D’Urso was solid in net. In their second game of the Beast Fall Classic, the Rats shut out the EC Militia 3-0. Theodore, Martin and Will Manchuso each scored and Cody Hew was outstanding in net. The River Rats closed out a solid weekend with an 8-2 win over Mid-Fairfield. Jason Rothstein and Ethan Travis powered the offense with two goals each. Manchuso, MacPherson, Martin and Ryan Bello each added a goal.
* The Vermont Jr. Catamounts U16 had their offense working on all cylinders as they took down the Maine Jr. Mariners 10-1. Both Oliver Quong and Jack Kelly chipped in two goals apiece.
* In other U16 action, the East Coast Militia National tied 3-3 with the New Jersey Rockets. Nate Moons (2) and Kieran McIntosh scored for the Militia, while Vladimir Provorov, Alexei Vlasov and Nathan Bienstock scored for the Rockets.
