There was plenty of exciting action within the younger age groups at the recent Beast Fall Classic. Here's a look at some highlights at the U15, U14 and U13 levels:
U15
* With a total of 10 goals scored, the U15 Red Bank Generals and the New Hampshire Mountain Kings tied 5-5. The Mountain Kings were in full control of the game up 3-1 after the first half, but four unanswered goals in the second half by Michael Gemellaro, Christian Valenti, Ryder Grigoli and Giovani Gemellaro put the Generals on top 5-4. With less than two minutes to play, Dmitri Konstantinov tied the game for the Mountain Kings.
* It was a big win for the U15 Neponset River Rats as they beat Boston Hockey Academy 6-1. Chase Warsofsky had a big game with a goal and three assists. Tommy Zine, Jackson Burns, Easton Anello, Joe Covelluzzi and Joe Galvin all added one goal.
* The Maine Jr. Mariners U15 got in the win column with a 7-3 win over the VT Jr. Catamounts (Split). Ryder Johnson and JC Paquette led the balanced attack with two goals a piece. Gavin Carlson, Liam Eslinger and Jackson Lindsley also scored for the Mariners.
* The U15 Red Bank Generals doubled up the Vermont Jr. Catamounts Split 4-2. Down 2-1 heading into the second half, they exploded for three goals by Michael Gemellaro, Brody Riva and William Reed to win in comeback fashion.
* The Long Island Gulls and the East Coast Militia skated to a 1-1 tie. After a scoreless first half, Liam Sullivan put the Militia up 1-0. Later in the half, the Gulls tied it on a goal by Matthew Stampfel. Both goalies Maddox Franks and Ryan Walsh had 29 saves each.
U14
* The Red Bank Generals U14 team earned a 1-0 win on Saturday against the Northeast Generals. After a scoreless first half, Hank Swain scored the game-winning goal with assists going to Gabriel Steponov and Antonio Soto. Noah Canfield got the win in net.
* The Generals improved to 2-0 with a 3-1 win over the New Hampshire Mountain Kings. Christopher Curko’s second half goal broke a 1-1 tie and Gunnar Hanzl added an insurance goal late in the second.
* The Yale Jr. Bulldogs and the Long Island Gulls U14 skated to a 1-1 tie. Andrew Wyda got the Gulls on the board early in the first. Kellan Fenstad tied the game early in the second half for the Bulldogs. Both Trevor Rostowsky and Matthew Cernan were excellent in goal.
* The U14 Neponset River Rats beat the U14 Shield 5-1. The River Rats got off to a fast start with four goals in the first half by Colin Dunlap, Carter Felt, John Queally and Jake Guerriero. Colin Walsh made it 5-0 early in the second half.
* East Coast Militia (Chighisola) got in the win column with an 8-1 win over the Shield. Cole Butler, Caleb Faria and Theokritos Petropoulos Jr. each scored two goals for the Militia. John Brown and James Johnson also added single tallies. Ethan Lazdowsky got the win in goal and had 24 saves.
U13
* The U13 East Coast Militia had their offense working as they beat the Connecticut Chiefs 12-1 in the Beast Fall Classic. The game was a close 2-1 after the first half until the Militia broke the game wide open. Sean Greene led the way with a hat trick and Brendan Pugsley and Michael Fahey each scored twice for the Militia. Matthew Stock, Mason Pasquantonio, Owen Higgins, Ryker Reissner and Landon Healy also scored in the big win.
* In a close battle, the Long Island Gulls beat Seacoast Performance Academy 1-0. Ryan Reasoner scored the lone goal in the first half for the Gulls. Brian O’Reilly was solid in net earning the shutout.
* The Long Island Gulls won their second game of the weekend beating Seacoast Performance Academy 5-1. Ryan Reasoner scored twice and Brayden Dean, Thomas McNelis and Nicholas Best also scored for the Gulls.
* Seacoast Performance Academy rebounded for a 5-1 win over the Yale Jr. Bulldogs. Patrick Taylor led the way with a hat trick and Ricksen Gong-Massie scored twice for SPA in the win.
* The Yale Jr. Bulldogs and the East Coast Militia skated to a 4-4 tie in the U13 division. Ryker Reissner (2), Landon Healy and Michael Fahey all scored for the Militia, while Jack Doran, Keegan Claffey, Levi Indes and Christopher Newson chipped in goals for the Bulldogs.
* The Long Island Gulls improved to 3-0 on the weekend with a 6-2 win over East Coast Militia. Thomas McNelis and Bradyen Dean each scored a pair of goals while Steven Denis and James Campobasso also chipped in one apiece.
