The 16U Boston Hockey Academy are the 2024 Beast League Champions after a 6-1 win over East Coast Militia in the title game.

Bexultan Marasalek (2), Taren Bower, Ryan Walsh, Cole Schindler and Michal Marsalek all scored in the big win. Sascha Pitaev was stellar in goal for a third straight game and was a key piece to BHA’s playoff run.

Coach Jon Lizzotte was so proud of this team and harped on what it meant for them.

“This championship was really special for our group,” said Lizzotte. “We had blown a few games over the past few weeks and to see us thrive when hit with adversity was awesome. We have a great group of boys who show up to work every day and it’s great to see their commitment pay off.”

Boston Hockey Academy scored 20 goals in their three games this weekend while only allowing three and Lizzotte talked about what the keys to success for his team’s big weekend were.

“The key to this weekend was it was a total team effort,” said Lizzotte. “We had goals come from all of our lines in different moments. We had defensemen step up and provide offense, while also playing very well defensively. Sascha Pitaev was fantastic in goal all weekend, he bailed us out on several occasions. It was great to see this group come together and it felt good to win the Beast after a first round exit last season with a lot of the same boys.”
