NEPONSET RIVER RATS CLAIM U14 CHAMPIONSHIP IN SHOOTOUT; GOLD TITLE GOES TO NH MOUNTAIN KINGS

14U titles for the 2024 Beast League season went to the Neponset River Rats and the New Hampshire Mountain Kings. The Rats won their game in a Shootout, while the Mountain Kings clinched their crown in overtime.

14U Championship

The 2024 14U Beast League Champions are the Neponset Valley River Rats after their exciting 2-1 win over the Long Island Gulls in a contest that wasn't decided until a Shootout.

It was the River Rats second win over the Gulls on the weekend, having defeated Long Island in the round-robin, 2-0.

Drew Short scored for the River Rats in the first half and then Jaden Wang tied the game for the Bulldogs, setting the stage for the Shootout rounds.

And in the Shootout, Nicholas Tulipano netted the title-clinching goal for the River Rats. Marco Cinque also delivered in the Shootout, while Michael Barrett found the back of the net for the Gulls.

14U Semifinals

* The Neponset River Rats kept it rolling in the first semifinal game beating the CT Jr. Rangers, 8-2, to advance to the championship. The River Rats exploded for six first half goals en route to the big win. Carter Felt, Jake Guerriero and John Queally each scored a pair of goals in the big win.

* In a tight battle, the Long Island Gulls snuck by the East Coast Militia (Chighisola) 2-1. After a scoreless first half, both teams exchanged single goals in the second half. The game went into overtime and Miles Siegel scored the game-winner.

14U A Round-Robin Play

* In the first action in the 14U division, the Long Island Gulls defeated the Woodbridge Wolfpack 3-1. Michael Kandrach, Maveric Thisdelle and Matthew Ferrante all lit the lamp for the Gulls in the win.

* The Neponset Valley River Rats doubled up the EC Militia (Chighisola) 4-2. With the score tied 2-2 late in the second half, Carter Felt delivered the game winner for the River Rats and shortly after John Queally scored an insurance goal to secure the win.

* East Coast Militia (Chighisola) improved to 1-1 on the weekend with a 3-1 win over the Long Island Gulls. John Brown, James Johnson and Gavin Quinn all scored and Ethan Lazdowsky was outstanding in net.

* The River Rats earned their second win of the weekend with a 4-1 win over Woodbridge Wolfpack. John Queally, Drew Short, Nicholas Tulipano and Carter Felt all scored.

* In shutout fashion, the River Rats improved to 3-0 with a 2-0 win over the Long Island Gulls. Jake Guerriero and Brendan Martin each scored and William Gwaltney earned the big win in net.

* The Woodbridge Wolfpack earned their first win over the weekend in a 5-3 victory over EC Militia (Chighisola). Deverin Warner scored a hat trick and Kellen Harris scored twice to power the attack.

14U B Round Robin Play

* Dexter Shield came out on top with a 3-2 win over the Red Bank Generals in the first of the 14U B action. Down 2-1 heading into the second half, Carter Watson scored the game-tying goal. That sent the game into overtime where Jackson Liao scored the game-winner.

* The Connecticut Jr. Rangers defeated the Yale Jr. Bulldogs 3-2.  Jackson Shehaj, Jason Creegan and Philip Skobrev all scored for the Jr. Rangers.

* In their second game of the weekend, the CT Jr. Rangers defeated the Dexter Shield 6-4. Jackson Shejah and Lucas Hould each scored a pair of goals in the win.

* Luther Vanim’s two goals helped lift the Red Bank Generals over the Yale Jr. Bulldogs 3-1. Gunnar Hanzl also scored for the Generals.

* The Dexter Shield doubled up the Yale Jr. Bulldogs 4-2. Maxwell Prudovsky and Jackson Liao led the offensive attack with two goals each.

* Make it a 3-0 weekend for the CT Jr. Rangers as they shutout the Red Bank Generals 4-0. Jason Creegan scored twice and Quinn Brown and Brendan Moore each added single tallies.

14U Gold Championship

The 2024 14U Gold Beast League Champions are the New Hampshire Mountain Kings who defeated the Springfield Thunderbirds 3-2, in a game that needed overtime to decide.

The Kings grabbed a 2-0 lead with a first half goal from Kingston Delmastro and an early second half strike off the stick of Yan Khegay.

The Thunderbirds didn't quit, and evened things at 2-2 with goals from Wolfie Zinger and Jake Fournier.

In extra time, Jacob Valliere proved to be the hero for the Mountain Kings scoring the game-winner to give them the big championship win.

14U Gold Semifinals

* The New Hampshire Mountain Kings continued to roll with a 6-0 win over the Northeast Generals. Kingston Delmastro and Yan Khegay continued their strong play with two goals apiece. Elisei Melikian and Tyler Pinardi also scored for the Mountain Kings.

* Two goals from Michael Bielanski and one from Jake Fournier led the Springfield Thunderbirds to a 3-0 win over the East Coast Militia. Dante Gonzalez pitched the shutout in goal.

14U Gold Round Robin

The Northeast Generals doubled up the New Jersey Titans 2-1. Thomas McCoash scored both goals for the Generals and Ryan McArdle got the win in net.

* In a game where 11 goals were scored, the New Hampshire Mountains Kings beat EC Militia (Nudge) 6-5. Kingston Delmastro scored twice and Yan Khegay, Luke Myshkowsky and Tyler Pinardi all scored single tallies. James Collins had a hat trick for the Militia squad.

* First-half goals from Max Weaver and Wolfie Zinger were all the Jr Thunderbirds needed in a 2-0 win over the New Hampshire Mountain Kings. These teams would meet again in the championship game.

* The Northeast Generals edged past the East Coast Militia (Nudge) 2-1, with Thomas McCosh scoring both goals.

* The Springfield Thunderbirds got off to a quick start en route to a 5-2 win over the New Jersey Titans. Jake Fournier scored twice, and Jack Hallam, Jackson Aleman and Wes Asselin each had one
