THIS WEEKEND'S U14 TITLE GOES TO BOSTON HOCKEY ACADEMY IN OVERTIME

Boston Hockey Academy are a 14U Beast League Champion after a thrilling 2-1 overtime win over the New York Saints in Sunday's title game at Lovell Arena.

Amirali Toleshov was the hero for BHA as he scored the game winning goal with 52 seconds left in overtime into overtime. with a blistering wrist shot from the top of the slot. Gabriel Tomasek scored the other goal.

The Saints did grab an early 1-0 lead on a goal from Nate DiCintio.

In the first semi-final game, Boston Hockey Academy defeated the Long Island Gulls 3-1 to advance to the championship. Gabriel Tomasek scored twice and Alen Gritsenko also scored. 

In the second semi-final game, the NY Saints doubled up the Troy Albany Titans, 4-2. Mason Roy, Chase Lanzo, Aiden Bertolino and Nate DiCintio all scored and Cormac Sommerville had a great game between the pipes.

ROUND-ROBIN PLAYOFF RECAP

- In a tight battle, the Troy Albany Titans beat the New Hampshire Mountain Kings 5-4. With the game tied 4-4 late in the second half, Alex Wojtowicz scored the game-winning goal. The Titans were on top 4-0 in the first half on a hat trick by Benjamin Hilstro and a single tally by Jacob Keary before Wojtowicz upped the advantage to 5-0 early in the second half. The Mountain Kings stormed back with goals from Reade Brown (2), Alex Mironov and William Hynes.

- The New York Saints shutout the Long Island Gulls behind two goals by Mason Roy and one from Chase Lanzo. Jack Bell was outstanding between the pipes. 

- The Long Island Gulls beat the New Hampshire Mountain Kings 5-3. Henry Ridout led the way with a hat trick and Hunter Wendt and Brendan Ehrlich also scored. 

- A hat trick by Gabriel Tomasek helped give Boston Hockey Academy a 5-2 win over the New York Saints. Peter Visnosky and Benedikt Nutz also found the scoresheet. 

- The Troy Albany Titans got their second win of the weekend with a 2-1 win against the Springfield Thunderbirds. The Titans got first half goals by Alex Wojtowicz and Hunter Roseberger and a terrific performance in net by Samuel Nelson. 

- The New Hamphire Mountain Kings got their first win of the weekend beating Boston Hockey Academy 5-4 in a close game. Dominic Scaparotti had a hat trick and an assist and Alexander Landry and Grady Goulet also chipped in a goal apiece. 

- The New York Saints snuck by the Troy Albany Titans with a 2-1 victory. Aiden Bertolino and Nate DiCintio each scored goals. 

- The Long Island Gulls earned their second win of the weekend with a 2-1 win against the Springfield Thunderbirds. Matthew Radoslovich and Patrick Brzezinski each found the back of the net. 

- In the 14U consolation game, the New Hampshire Mountain Kings came out on top with 4-3 overtime win over the Springfield Thunderbirds. Brody Fallon scored the overtime winner and Griffin Watts notched a pair of goals.

Cape Cod Whalers Also Earn A Beast U14 Title 

Earlier this month, another group of U14 Beast programs battled it out in a separate playoff bracket due to the scheduling of the Massachusetts Hockey State Playoffs.

In this bracket, the Cape Cod Whalers emerged with the title, edging the Neponset River Rats 4-3 in overtime.

The Whalers won in thrilling fashion, with Bryce Powderly scoring the game-winning goal. The Whalers had opened up a 3-0 lead in the first on goals by Chase Kavoogian (2) and Max Colley.

The River Rats battled to tie it in the second with three goals of their own by Ryan Romiza, Hunter Thompson and William Guertin sending it to overtime.

In Round Robin Action....

- The Cape Cod Whalers took down East Coast Militia 5-2 on goals by Quinn Tazziz (2), Sam Wilson, Max Colley and Chase Kavoogian. 

- Two goals by Tyler Newbould helped the Neponset Valley River Rats beat the Yale Jr. Bulldogs 5-2. Zach Simon, Colin O’Connor and Hunter Thompson also found the scoresheet. 

- In a tight battle, the Northeast Generals topped the Jr. Bulldogs 3-2 in an overtime thriller. Alex Schiffenhaus scored the game-winner for his second goal of the day. Nicholas Zybko also scored for the Generals. 

- In a shootout, the Neponset Valley River Rats came out on top over East Coast Militia 2-1. Ryan Romiza tied the game at one in the second half sending it to overtime. After a scoreless overtime, the teams met in a shootout where the River Rats came out on top.

- The Cape Cod Whalers earned their second consecutive win with a 3-0 shutout over the Yale Jr. Bulldogs. Ronan Flynn, Evan Miller and Bryce Powderly each scored and Declan Sullivan earned the shutout between the pipes.

- Five different goal scorers helped the East Coast Militia beat the Northeast Generals, 5-3. Noah Holt, Xavier Hart, Elliott Stuart, Christopher Mannix and Avery Stein all lit the lamp.
